Protective Resources is a security consulting services firm located in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The mission of Protective Resources is to provide security and life-safety consulting services at the highest levels of professionalism and expertise. We are not affiliated with any manufacturers or systems integrators, ensuring that our work products and evaluations are independent, objective, and reliable.

With a wide range of experience in both legacy and current technologies, Protective Resources has the skills needed to execute vulnerability assessments, system design, project management support, system commissioning, and software support projects at multiple levels.

One of the differentiators in Protective Resources is that our consultants are highly technical and fully understand modern electronic security technology.  Need help converting your aging analog video system over to IP cameras and network video recorders, or your orphaned access control system over to a biometric smart card system with integrated video and facial recognition? No problem. We can help.

Our experienced consultants are subject matter experts in the fields of:

  • Vulnerability Analysis
  • Security Planning
  • Expert Witness Testimony
  • Security RFP development
  • Post Orders / SOPs
  • Security Standards
  • Disaster Recovery / Resiliency
  • Vendor Evaluation
  • Security Lighting Surveys
  • SOC Planning and Implementation

Our clients typically include Fortune 1000 Corporations, Government Entities, Architecture & Engineering Firms, Property Management companies, Contract Management Firms, Insurance Companies, and Attorneys.

In order to remain vendor and product agnostic, we typically do not engage in work for security integrators, security product manufacturers, guard force companies, or other entities which might appear to influence our product selections or recommendations or create a conflict of interest.   We remain objective in providing the best consulting service that serves the needs of our client, and only our client.

 Forensics

Protective Resources also provides analytical and technical support for both analog and digital video forensics.  Forensic engineers and attorneys will benefit from our ability to analyze video material and support our findings through testimony as consultants or expert witnesses.

 Training

Complementing our technical and project support is our extensive experience in training.  Protective Resources provides training in a variety of subject areas, including electrical contractor training and training for both installers and users of a wide range of security systems installations.  Many of our training classes are pre-approved for continuing education credit in multiple States.

 Systems

Unlike many firms, Protective Resources generally does not use subcontractors for our work.  Our consultants each have a minimum of 20 years of industry experience and hold multiple professional certifications and licenses, including Certified Protection Professionals (ASIS), Senior Engineering Technicians (NICET), Certified Fire Protection Professionals (NFPA), Microsoft Certified Professionals, and licensed electrical contractor (NC).
