Protective Resources develops detailed Requests for Proposal (RFP) documents for security system procurements. Our RFPs are comprehensive technical specifications that enable organizations to solicit competitive bids from qualified security integrators — and to hold the winning bidder accountable to exactly what was promised.

The Problem with Vague Specifications

When an RFP says little more than “install cameras and card readers,” every integrator bids a different system. Proposals become impossible to compare, the low bid usually wins on omissions rather than efficiency, and the change orders begin the day after contract award. A rigorous specification eliminates that dynamic: all responding vendors bid on the same scope of work, proposals can be compared on an equal basis, and the acceptance criteria are established before the first invoice.

What Our RFP Packages Include

Bid Evaluation and Vendor Selection

We also support the procurement itself: managing pre-bid conferences and RFIs, performing technical evaluations of the proposals received, identifying scope gaps and exceptions buried in vendor responses, and advising on final selection. Because we do not partner with or accept referral fees from any integrator or manufacturer, our evaluation serves only your interests.

RFP development typically builds on an established Basis of Design, and pairs naturally with project management through installation and acceptance.
